The Oil Serum - Youth Elixir Oil Serum
The first thing springs into my mind when it comes to our Youth Elixir Oil Serum is one of its ingredients, the Immortelle. For me this plant symbolises warm summer days spent by the sea. The Mediterranean sea where it grows abundantly next to the roads and fields.
As with all my skin care products, I want to emphasis the synergy and the twelve botanical ingredients unique composition.
A huge bouquet of goodness from nature with valuable cold-pressed drops of fruits: raspberry, pomegranate, passion fruit and prickly pear seed oil. All of them are especially high in vitamins (vitamin A, E and K), omega-3 and 6 fatty acids, and antioxidants. With exceptional anti-inflammatory & regenerating properties that can increase skin elasticity and tone.
They are complemented by a special team of flowers and herbs: acmella extract, moringa and jojoba oil. Acmella is very rich in actives that - true to the theme of the oil serum (Youth Elixir) - has muscle relaxing properties helping to smooth out fine lines.
The most beautiful picture is painted for me by the synergy of essential oils: Immortelle (Helichrysum italicum), Blue chamomile (Chamomila recutita), Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia), Ylang-ylang (Cananga odorata), and Sweet orange (Citrus aurantium dulcis). A joyful, soul warming summer late afternoon, when the sun is only caressing our skin with its warm rays. There is a soft straw scent from the drying field of stubble. The refreshing and playful laughter of people from the beach is echoing in the distance. And the seductiveness of the night is lingering on our consciousness.
As you can see the effect a skin care product can have on our senses is very important and could raise our quality of life too.
Of course, there is always lots of research behind a product but very often as far as the very beginning of the formulation process I have an instinctive feeling, a guiding ingredient that helps to creat the composition of the product. In this case it was the Immortelle essential oil. As you can see its called immortelle and indeed has amazing regenerating properties. It can bring old wounds to the surface and heal them in the same go. It has anti-inflammatory and scar healing properties that are also important for a face serum.
Characteristic to the Mar Galliti products I wanted the serum to be suitable for most skin types, for this reason the texture is very light and it sinks into the skin easily. I often have the impression that people with oily skin are afraid of oil based products. I can tell from experience that they should not, especially when we create the right oil combination. I put a few drops (4-5 drops) from the Youth Elixir Oil Serum in my hand, I heat it up between my palms and press it into my skin.
